• Prohibits push-to-talk contracts from being subject to provisions allowing multiple purchase contract awards when items have unique technical compatibility or operational specifications.

• Maintains competitive bidding requirements as the standard method for awarding push-to-talk service contracts by public entities.

• Becomes effective October 1, 2021.
