• Modifies the heraldic description to replace Confederate symbolism with "pure argent a crimson saltire imposed" representing Alabama.

• Updates the description of the ship crest to reference "French explorers" and "European colony" instead of "French colonists" and "white settlements."

• Takes effect October 1, 2021, following passage and gubernatorial approval.
