• Creates an additional circuit judgeship, designated Circuit Judgeship Number 7, in the Sixth Judicial Circuit for Tuscaloosa County.

• The new judgeship is conditional upon the Tuscaloosa County Commission adopting a resolution to fund compensation and benefits for the judge, a judicial assistant, and a court reporter for the first 24 months.

• The judge shall be elected at the November 2022 general election and will serve a six-year term, taking office the first Monday following the second Tuesday in January after election.

• The elected judge will have the same jurisdiction, powers, duties, qualifications, and responsibilities as other circuit judges.

• Judge compensation shall follow Chapter 10A of Title 12, Code of Alabama 1975, with no salary supplements or expense allowances for judges first elected after October 1, 2001.
