Reduces the Board of Examiners of Assisted Living Administrators from nine members to six members, plus three consumer members (previously two).

Changes the composition of professional members from five assisted living administrators to four assisted living administrators, while retaining one physician and one nursing home administrator.

Shifts appointment authority for assisted living administrator positions from the Assisted Living Association of Alabama to the board itself, with Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Speaker of House still making final appointments on a rotating basis.

Requires all appointing authorities to coordinate appointments to ensure diversity in gender, race, and geographical representation across the state.

Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
