HB555 Summary

• Amends Section 35-15-30 of the Alabama Code to establish an affirmative duty for law enforcement officers to remove guests from recreational vehicle parks upon request by the park operator.

• Allows park operators to request removal of guests who illegally possess or deal controlled substances, disturb the peace and comfort of others, or cause damage to the park.

• Requires park operators to provide written notice to guests before removal and must refund any prepaid, unused portions of advance payments at the time notice is given.

• Makes it a Class B misdemeanor for a guest to remain or attempt to remain in the park after being requested to leave under this section.

• Requires law enforcement officers to immediately remove or eject unlawful guests upon operator request, authorized to use force if necessary.

• Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
