Born July 24, 1955, in Birmingham, Alabama; earned a Bachelor Degree in Education from The University of North Alabama in May 1978; married to Reginald Berry with one daughter, Elizabeth Berry.

Worked for South Central Bell for nearly one year before joining the office of late Senator Howell Heflin in Washington, D.C., where she served for four decades.

Led former Senator Doug Jones's transition team in 2017 and most recently served as Deputy Chief of Staff for Senator Patrick Leahy of Vermont.

Alabama Legislature honors her dedication, leadership, and historic achievement with utmost gratitude, admiration, and regard.
