Records the death of Dr. Edward Lamar Thomas, Sr. of Birmingham, Alabama on March 5, 2021, at age 81.

Dr. Thomas earned his medical degree from The Medical College of Alabama in 1963 and completed his Orthopedic Residency at The University of Alabama Hospital in 1970.

Served as an orthopedic surgeon in private practice at Montclair Orthopedic Surgeons beginning in 1970 and served as President of Medical Staff at Baptist Medical Center Montclair from 1998 to 1999.

Served 15 years on The University of Alabama College of Arts and Sciences Leadership Board and was an elder of Briarwood Presbyterian Church for more than 50 years.

Survived by his wife of 58 years, Carole McAdams Thomas; two children; two grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
