• Dr. Uswatte has served as Principal of Rocky Ridge Elementary School in the Hoover City School System for six years, with four prior years as Assistant Principal and eight years teaching mathematics at Berry Middle School.

• She has been serving as a Principal since 2000 and holds a Bachelor's degree from Queens University in Canada, Master's degree and Educational Specialist degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and a Doctorate from the University of Alabama at Birmingham awarded in 2013.

• She served as Co-Director of the National Mentoring Program for the Milkin Family Foundation and held leadership positions in CLAS, AAESA, ACLD, ALSDE, and the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
