House Joint Resolution commending Darlene Hutchinson-Biehl for more than two decades of service as a crime victims' advocate and champion of victims' rights in Alabama.

Hutchinson-Biehl was part of the team responsible for passage and ratification of Alabama's Victims Constitutional Amendment in 1994-95 and contributed to other significant victims' rights legislation.

Received presidential appointment in 2017 to serve as Director of the Department of Justice's Office for Victims of Crime, where she oversaw administration of more than $7.8 billion in grants and non-taxpayer dollars.

During her tenure as Director, the Office for Victims of Crime awarded $2.18 million to Alabama Crime Victims Compensation Commission and $82.73 million to Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs to support crime victims and victim assistance programs statewide.

Continued federal service in 2020 as Senior Advisor for Victim Affairs within the Department of Justice Office of Justice Programs before returning to Alabama to continue advocating for victims' rights and public safety.
