Condemns all forms of anti-Asian discrimination and hate crimes perpetrated against the Asian American community in Alabama and nationwide.

Notes that approximately 65,000 Asian Americans live in Alabama and over 2,000,000 Asian Americans serve as front-line workers in health care, law enforcement, transportation, and other service industries during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Identifies nearly 3,800 reported cases of anti-Asian discrimination related to COVID-19 between March 19, 2020, and February 28, 2021, resulting in harassment, assault, and scapegoating of Asian Americans.

Directs state and local officials to expeditiously investigate and document credible reports of hate crimes, incidents, and threats against the Asian American community and collect data to prosecute perpetrators.

Encourages all Alabamians to promote respect, inclusion, and a welcoming environment by intervening against discrimination, reporting hate incidents, and showing kindness and empathy to all people.
