Condemns all acts of discrimination and hate perpetrated against the Asian American community in Alabama and the United States.

Notes that approximately 65,000 Asian Americans live in Alabama and over 2,000,000 Asian Americans work as first responders in health care, law enforcement, transportation, and service industries during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Calls on state officials, state law enforcement officials, and local officials to expeditiously investigate and document credible reports of hate crimes, incidents, and threats against Asian Americans and collect data on the rise of hate crimes.

Encourages all Alabama residents to assist in establishing a safe and welcoming environment for all people by intervening and reporting instances of discrimination and hate, and by showing kindness and empathy.

Denounces in the strongest terms any hate crimes, acts of discrimination, racism based on ethnicity, and incitement to violence resulting from COVID-19.
