Commends Fire Chief Byron Herring of Enterprise, Alabama for nearly 50 years of service with the Enterprise Fire Department, spanning from October 1973 until his retirement in May 2021.

Recognizes Herring's career progression from firefighter to Lieutenant (after 4 years), Captain (1983), and Chief (1993), as well as his roles as city Safety Officer and founding member of the Battens Volunteer Fire Department.

Notes that under Herring's leadership, the Enterprise Fire Department was ranked in the top 2 percent of fire departments in the United States and achieved major accomplishments including integrating Emergency Medical Services, building two new fire stations, and nearly doubling the firefighter workforce.

Acknowledges Herring's professional recognition including being named Alabama Fire Chiefs Association Chief of the Year in 2018 and recognized as the longest serving career fire chief in the state.
