Commends the Coosa Valley Electric Cooperative (CVEC) Board of Directors for their service and leadership.

CVEC was established in 1939 and serves 17,500 consumers in Calhoun, Clay, Etowah, Shelby, St. Clair, and Talladega Counties, having attracted and developed more than 16 industries that brought 4,000 jobs to the area.

On September 12, 2020, the CVEC Board allowed members to vote on joining the broadband Internet service business, with members responding with an overwhelming majority vote in favor.

CVEC Board established Coosa Valley Technologies to provide broadband Internet, voice-over-Internet-protocol telephone, and potentially television services using a Fiber-To-The-Premise network capable of providing speeds up to 10 gigabits per second.

CVEC Manager Leland Fuller and Board members President Mary Land, Vice President John M. Davis, Secretary Buddy Watson, and members Marilyn Davis, Robert Dixon, Sammy Gallman, and Michael Hubbard are recognized for their outstanding service.
