Commends Dr. Tony G. Waldrop for his seven-year presidency at the University of South Alabama, from February 2, 2014 through Summer 2021.

Recognizes Dr. Waldrop's five organizational priorities for the university: student access and success, enhancement of research and graduate education, excellence in health care, global engagement, and University-Community engagement.

Highlights achievements including enrollment of highest-achieving freshman classes in university history, launching the Pathway USA partnership with regional community colleges, raising over $160 million in a capital campaign, and growing research awards to over $100 million by 2020.

Notes significant expansion of USA Health under Dr. Waldrop's leadership, adding dozens of new physicians and practices, and construction of major facilities including MacQueen Alumni Center, Simulation Lab Building, Fanny Meisler Trauma Center, and Hancock Whitney Stadium.

Honors Dr. Waldrop's retirement as he and his wife, Dr. Julee Waldrop, plan to relocate to North Carolina, where she has accepted a position as assistant dean for the School of Nursing at Duke University.
