Commends Tyler Horton Murray, a 17-year veteran softball coach and teacher at Theodore High School, for her efforts to equalize girls and boys sports in Mobile County.

Recognizes Murray's 2008 action against inequities including removal of weight machines from the softball team's facility, forcing female athletes to work out in stairwells and shower areas, while football received disproportionate funding and coach salaries.

Notes that as a result of Murray's efforts, the Mobile County School Board adopted a resolution in 2010 to improve equity of girls sports to boys sports throughout the county with equal equipment, facilities, and coach compensation.

Acknowledges Murray's commitment to addressing pervasive biases and fighting egalitarian norms while making a meaningful difference in her students' lives.
