Commends Fort Payne City Schools Superintendent Jim Cunningham for 36 years of dedicated service to the school system.

Cunningham retires on October 1, 2021, after holding various positions including Assistant Principal at Fort Payne High School, Principal at multiple schools, and Superintendent of Fort Payne City Schools.

Cunningham earned a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Jacksonville State University in 1979, a Master's Degree in School Administration in 1990, and an Education Specialist Degree in School Administration in 1992.

Provided a one-time supplemental payment of $1,250 to all regular and certified employees who worked during the 2020-2021 school year for their efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Cunningham is a member of multiple professional and civic organizations including the Association of School Superintendents of Alabama, Fort Payne Rotary Club, Fort Payne Kiwanis Club, and the Fort Payne Chamber of Commerce.
