Shotgun Giddens was born August 6, 1938, in Talladega County, Alabama, and had a successful career singing in gospel quartets and trios for many decades.

Served as Circuit Clerk of Clay County for 18 years, worked as a barber, and was honored by the Boy Scouts of America.

Married Linda Upchurch Giddens on August 14, 1966, and is survived by his wife of 53 years, two daughters, three grandsons, three granddaughters, and six great-grandchildren.
