• Permits law enforcement to use facial recognition match results only when combined with other lawfully obtained information and evidence in criminal investigations.

• Defines facial recognition technology as computer software that generates facial biometric data, searches databases for matches, and provides results based on facial similarity.

• Defines facial biometric data as a unique numerical representation of an individual's face (facial template) generated by facial recognition technology.

• Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
