SB127 Summary

• Prohibits individuals, firms, corporations, associations, and educational institutions from interfering with or restricting media organizations' ability to cover public K-12 school sporting events in any form or format.

• Requires public K-12 schools to allow media organizations and their personnel reasonable access to sporting events.

• Defines "broadcast" as transmitting or exhibiting video or audio accessible by televisions, radios, computers, or other Internet-enabled devices.

• Defines "media organization" as newspapers, news wires, radio stations, television stations, television networks, websites, or other organizations that publish or broadcast print, digital, or audio media at regular intervals.

• Effective date is the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
