AL SB135

Amends Section 9-14A-21 of the Code of Alabama 1975 to modify the composition of the Joint Legislative Committee on State Parks effective beginning with the January 2003 Organizational Session.

Increases House representation from three to five members appointed by the Speaker of the House and adds the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives (or designee) as an explicit member.

Increases Senate representation from two to three members appointed by the Lieutenant Governor and from one to two members appointed by the President Pro Tempore of the Senate.

Requires all appointing authorities to coordinate appointments to ensure diversity of gender, race, and geographical areas reflective of the state's makeup.

Becomes effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor or otherwise becoming law.
