SB235 Summary

• Prohibits operation of any electronic voting machine except inside enclosed buildings designated as official voting places, effectively banning curbside voting.

• Prohibits election officials and poll workers from taking ballots into or out of voting places except during pre-election and post-election transportation as part of established election procedures.

• Amends Section 17-6-4 of the Code of Alabama 1975 regarding the designation and operation of voting places and electronic voting machines in election precincts.

• Becomes effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor or upon otherwise becoming law.
