• Amends Section 36-15-1 of the Code of Alabama 1975 to require the Attorney General to provide written opinions on questions of law relating to the duties of state legislators when requested by any legislator.

• Excludes questions relating to pending legislation from the Attorney General's obligation to provide opinions to legislators.

• Maintains existing requirements that county and city officers submit a resolution adopted by their governing body when requesting Attorney General opinions.

• Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.

• Passed by the Alabama Senate on April 27, 2021 with a vote of 26-2.
