SB267 Summary

• Prohibits state and local government entities from issuing vaccine or immunization passports, passes, or standardized documentation certifying immunization status, except as required by Chapter 30 of Title 16, Code of Alabama 1975.

• Prohibits government entities from requiring individuals to receive immunizations or present immunization documentation as a condition for receiving government services or entry into government buildings, except as otherwise required by state law.

• Allows educational institutions to continue requiring only the specific vaccines that were already mandated as of January 1, 2021, and must provide exemptions for students with medical conditions or religious beliefs contrary to vaccination.

• Prohibits businesses and individuals doing business in Alabama from refusing goods, services, or admission to customers based on their immunization status or lack of immunization documentation.

• Becomes effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor or upon otherwise becoming law.
