Amends Section 12-25-35 of the Alabama Code to clarify that the district attorney or his or her employee may complete voluntary sentencing standards worksheets in felony cases.

Removes previous language allowing probation officers or other persons appointed by the sentencing judge to complete worksheets, replacing it with an employee of the Board of Pardons and Paroles as an alternative.

Requires the completed worksheet to be presented to the sentencing judge for consideration after notice to the offender or his or her attorney, within a time frame set by the judge.

Trial court must review the sentencing standards worksheet and indicate on the record that it has been reviewed and considered before imposing sentence.

Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
