Creates six additional circuit judgeships: Circuit Judgeship Number 6 in the Twenty-eighth Judicial Circuit (Baldwin County), Circuit Judgeship Number 12 in the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit (Mobile County), Circuit Judgeship Number 8 in the Twenty-third Judicial Circuit (Madison County), Circuit Judgeship Number 4 in the Thirty-seventh Judicial Circuit (Lee County), Circuit Judgeship Number 2 in the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit (Marengo, Greene, and Sumter Counties), and Circuit Judgeship Number 4 in the Eleventh Judicial Circuit (Lauderdale County).

New judgeships become effective October 1, 2021, and shall be filled using the procedure for filling vacancies in their respective circuits.

Initial judges appointed to these positions shall serve pursuant to Section 153 of the Alabama Constitution of 1901.

New circuit judges shall possess all qualifications, exercise full jurisdiction, power, rights, and authority of other circuit judges, and are subject to the same duties and responsibilities.

Compensation for new judges shall follow Chapter 10A of Title 12, Code of Alabama 1975, with no salary supplements or expense allowances for judges first appointed after October 1, 2001.
