AL SB40

Exempts three education foundations from paying state, county, and municipal sales and use taxes effective January 1, 2021: Alabama School of Fine Arts Foundation, Incorporated; Alabama High School of Mathematics and Science Foundation; and Alabama School of Cyber Technology and Engineering Foundation.

Applies notwithstanding any other provision of law, establishing these exemptions as overriding existing tax requirements.

Became effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor.

Originated in the Senate on February 4, 2021, was amended and passed by the House on March 16, 2021, and the Senate concurred in the House amendment on March 16, 2021.
