Amends Section 41-20-4 of the Code of Alabama 1975 to allow the President Pro Tempore of the Senate to appoint a designee to serve on the Sunset Committee in his or her place.

The Sunset Committee is a select joint committee consisting of three House members, three Senate members, two additional appointees from each chamber, the President Pro Tempore of the Senate (or designee), and the Speaker Pro Tem of the House.

The committee chair is elected from among the members and alternates annually between a House member and a Senate member.

Committee members are entitled to legislative per diem and expenses for attending meetings, with no limitation on meeting days but payment only for days actually engaged in committee business.

The act becomes effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor.
