SB66 Summary

• Amends Section 16-54-2 of the Code of Alabama 1975 to modify the composition of the University of Montevallo Board of Trustees.

• Allows one trustee to be appointed at-large as a nonresident of Alabama, in addition to one trustee from each congressional district and state-at-large trustees.

• Maintains the board composition at 11 trustees plus the Governor (ex officio president) and State Superintendent of Education (ex officio), with a quorum of 5 members.

• Establishes 12-year terms for trustees appointed by the Governor with Senate advice and consent, with exceptions for nonresident appointees from residency requirements.

• Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and Governor approval.
