SB88 Summary

• Increases the maximum number of entertainment districts that Class 1 municipalities may establish from 5 to 15 within their corporate limits.

• Each entertainment district must contain at least 4 licensees holding a manufacturer's license with tastings or samplings, a restaurant retail liquor license, an on-premises alcoholic beverage license, or other retail liquor license.

• Each district may not exceed one-half mile by one-half mile in area but may be irregularly shaped.

• Permits patrons to exit licensed premises with open containers of alcoholic beverages and consume them anywhere within the entertainment district confines, but prohibits entry into other licensed premises with outside containers.

• Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
