Mrs. Hewson earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from the University of Alabama in 1976 and a Master of Arts Degree in Economics in 1979.

Mrs. Hewson serves as Chairwoman, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Lockheed Martin, the world's largest defense contractor, which generated $53.76 billion in revenue in 2018.

Mrs. Hewson has held multiple executive positions at Lockheed Martin since 1983, became a Board of Directors member on November 9, 2012, Chief Executive Officer in January 2013, and Chairwoman in January 2014.

Mrs. Hewson received the Edison Achievement Award in 2018 and was named by Forbes as the ninth most powerful woman in the world in 2018.
