Designates September 2021 as Prostate Cancer Awareness Month in Alabama.

Notes that one in nine men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during his lifetime, with approximately 164,690 new cases and 29,430 deaths expected nationally in 2021; Alabama projects 4,020 new diagnoses in 2021.

Highlights that African American men face disproportionate risk, being 1.7 times more likely to be diagnosed and 2.3 times more likely to die from prostate cancer than white men; one in six African American men will develop prostate cancer in his lifetime.

Encourages Alabama citizens to become informed about prostate cancer and engage in discussions with healthcare providers regarding screening, diagnostic methods, and treatment options to improve health outcomes and psychosocial support.

Commits Alabama to continued support for critical prostate cancer research and development of advanced treatments.
