Mourns the death of Hall of Fame pitcher Don Howard Sutton, a native of Clio, Alabama, who died on January 19, 2021, at age 75.

Sutton pitched for five major league teams (Los Angeles Dodgers, Houston Astros, Milwaukee Brewers, Oakland Athletics, and California Angels) from 1966-1988, winning 324 games with 58 shutouts.

Sutton was a four-time All-Star, MLB ERA Leader in 1980, holds the Dodger franchise record for wins and strikeouts, and was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1998.

After retiring as a player in 1989-2018, Sutton worked as a sports broadcaster for the Atlanta Braves for almost three decades and earned induction into the Braves Hall of Fame in 2015.

Legislature extends condolences to Sutton's survivors: his wife Mary Sutton and children Daron, Staci, and Jaqueline.
