• Designates September 17, 2021, as POW/MIA Day in Alabama to honor former prisoners of war and those missing in action.

• Recognizes more than 500,000 prisoners of war who endured suffering and brutality, and commemorates tens of thousands of service members still missing in action.

• Notes specific numbers of missing service members: more than 73,000 from World War II, over 120 from the Cold War, approximately 7,745 from the Korean War, more than 1,600 from the Vietnam War, and 30 from Alabama.
