Alabama Farmers Federation was founded in 1921 and is celebrating its 100th anniversary as the voice of Alabama farmers.

The organization has grown from 75,000 members in 1960 to become the state's largest farm organization with more than 360,000 members organized through 67 independent county federations.

Alfa Insurance was founded by the Federation in 1946 to provide fire protection for rural residents and now serves more than one million customers in 11 states.

The Federation operates leadership development programs including Young Farmers Committee, Women's Leadership Committee, 17 commodity committees, and A.L.F.A. Leaders Class to encourage community involvement and consumer education.

The Legislature extends sincere best wishes and heartfelt congratulations to the Alabama Farmers Federation on its 100th birthday and Centennial Anniversary Celebration.
