House Resolution honoring Mr. George J. Waldron, III, who died on September 27, 2021, at age 79 in Mobile, Alabama.

Waldron was born in the Panama Canal Zone and was a 1960 graduate of Murphy High School; he attended Huntingdon College and graduated from Livingston State College (now University of West Alabama).

Retired after 32 years of service from Delchamps, Inc., as Senior Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations for a 121-store regional supermarket chain; served as President of GJW Enterprises, Inc. DBA Quiznos Subs for 14 years with 38 franchises.

Active in civic and community involvement including the March of Dimes, Arthritis Foundation, United Way, American Cancer Society, and served on boards including Old Dauphin Way School and Ronald McDonald House of Mobile.

Survived by his wife of 56 years Joan Hughes Waldron, son Brent Hughes Waldron, daughter Kristy Waldron, three grandchildren, and sister Sharon Waldron Padgett.
