HB 9 - Alabama Health Freedom Act

• Prohibits employers, places of public accommodation, and occupational licensing boards from discriminating against individuals based on immunization status in hiring, promotion, compensation, licensing, or service provision.

• Defines "immunization status" as whether an individual has received or not received any vaccination administered to prevent infectious disease, including presence or absence of antibodies.

• Creates civil cause of action for individuals discriminated against, with available remedies including injunctive relief, compensatory damages, punitive damages, and reasonable attorney fees and costs if plaintiff prevails.

• Authorizes the Alabama Attorney General to bring civil actions against employers, public accommodations, or licensing boards for violations.

• Declares all federal acts, laws, orders, rules, and regulations requiring Alabama residents to receive vaccines are in violation of the Tenth Amendment and shall be void and of no effect in the state.
