AL SB1

Repeals existing Section 29-1-2.3 of the Code of Alabama 1975 relating to Alabama Senate districts and replaces it with a new redistricting plan.

Establishes 35 Alabama Senate districts with boundaries defined by the "McClendon Senate Plan 1" map prepared by the Permanent Legislative Committee on Reapportionment, effective until the next federal census.

Requires Senate members to reside in the district they represent or seek to represent.

Mandates the Legislature post the McClendon Senate Plan 1 map and any alternative maps introduced during the legislative session on its public website.

Directs the Secretary of the Senate to transmit the certified map and boundary descriptions to the Secretary of State for certification and public posting, with the certified map boundaries taking precedence over census tract boundaries.
