AL SB14

Authorizes the Sheriff of Hale County to establish procedures for making limited purchases using credit or debit cards issued to the Sheriff's Office.

Requires the sheriff to adopt written policies governing card use, including individual purchase limits, monthly spending caps, and restricted access to cards and account information.

Mandates accurate record-keeping of all card purchases, monthly review of bills for unauthorized charges, and full monthly payment to avoid fees or interest charges.

Requires the sheriff to select card providers considering annual fees, rewards or rebates, interest rates, service charges, and termination penalties.

Directs any rewards or rebates earned from card purchases to be deposited in the Sheriff's Discretionary Fund of Hale County.
