AL HB213

Abolishes the Office of the Mobile County Treasurer upon expiration of the current term or if a vacancy occurs for any reason.

Transfers all treasurer duties, functions, records, assets, and property to the Mobile County Commission, with all merit employees becoming commission employees.

Allows county depositories in place at abolition to continue serving until the Mobile County Commission removes them by resolution.

Requires the Mobile County Commission to conduct an audit of the treasurer's accounts and exempts the commission from liability for any prior errors or omissions by the treasurer.

Becomes effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor.
