Baldwin County Sheriff receives an additional expense allowance effective immediately so total compensation equals $130,000 per year, payable in equal monthly installments from the county general fund.

Starting with the sheriff's next term of office, the sheriff receives an annual salary of $130,000 in lieu of all other compensation provided by law.

Any cost-of-living compensation adjustment granted to Sheriff's office employees automatically applies to the sheriff's salary, with increases paid as expense allowances until the end of that term when they convert to salary.

Repeals Sections 45-2-230 and 45-2-230.02 of the Code of Alabama 1975 regarding Sheriff compensation.

Act becomes effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor.
