HB313 Summary

• Amends Section 34-24-143 of the Alabama Code to authorize the State Board of Chiropractic Examiners to acquire, hold, transfer, sell, and convey real property in its own name.

• Permits the board to acquire real property through purchase, gift, grant, or other lawful means (except eminent domain) that is used to carry out its responsibilities.

• Allows the board to expend its own funds for real property purchases, with any resulting obligations being solely those of the board and not creating debts or liabilities of the State of Alabama.

• Maintains existing provisions regarding board fees, fund deposits to the State Treasury, non-refundable fees, and state audit requirements for board records.

• Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and gubernatorial approval.
