• Establishes a $25 service of process fee for documents requiring personal service by the St. Clair County Sheriff in civil and criminal cases within St. Clair County.

• Establishes a $50 service of process fee for documents requiring personal service by the sheriff for cases pending or to be commenced outside of St. Clair County.

• Creates the St. Clair County Sheriff's Service of Process Fee Fund to supplement the sheriff's budget and be used for law enforcement purposes in the county.

• Court clerks collect the fees and distribute them to the fund, which is administered by the St. Clair County Commission as a separate fund from the general budget.

• Exempts St. Clair County, its district attorney, law enforcement officials, and grand juries from payment; allows courts to waive fees if payment would create substantial hardship with verified statement from requestor.

• Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval.
