• Amends Section 32-9-20 of the Alabama Code to allow motor vehicles used exclusively for transporting timber products a 10 percent variance above the standard maximum gross weight per axle requirements.

• Permits timber transport vehicles to exceed gross weight per axle limits by no more than 10 percent from the site of timber cutting to the first point of delivery where timber is transferred.

• Applies variance only to vehicles used exclusively for timber product transportation; other vehicle weight restrictions and regulations remain unchanged.

• Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
