Amends Section 13A-11-62 of the Alabama Code to revise the legal definition of "shotgun" to clarify it is designed to be fired from the shoulder and uses fixed shotgun shells to fire either multiple ball shot or a single projectile through a smooth bore.

Maintains the existing definition of "short-barreled shotgun" as a shotgun with one or more barrels less than 18 inches in length or any weapon made from a shotgun with an overall length of less than 26 inches.

Clarifies shotgun terminology by adding "made or remade" language to the shotgun definition to parallel the existing rifle and short-barreled rifle definitions in the same statute.

Takes effect January 1, 2023, following passage and approval by the Governor.
