• Commends Colonel David Etheredge, Commander of the 117th Maintenance Group at Sumpter Smith Air National Guard Base in Birmingham, Alabama, for his professional achievements and military service.

• Colonel Etheredge is responsible for over 300 personnel managing nine KC-135R aircraft for worldwide aerial refueling and airlift missions as a Senior Evaluator Pilot with the Alabama Air National Guard.

• Graduated from the Academy of Military Science in June 1994 as a Second Lieutenant and completed Undergraduate Pilot Training in July 1995 as a Distinguished Graduate.

• Served in multiple leadership positions at squadron, group, and wing levels and is a veteran of eight military operations, flying over 220 combat and combat support sorties with more than 5,100 total flying hours.

• Adopted by both houses of the Alabama Legislature on February 3, 2022 (House) and February 8, 2022 (Senate) to honor his service as he enters retirement.
