• Reauthorizes the Alabama Alzheimer's Disease Task Force, originally established in May 2012 by House Joint Resolution 433.

• Task Force will update the State Plan for Alzheimer's Disease and Other Related Dementias, which has not been updated since April 2015.

• Approximately 96,000 Alabamians age 65 and older have Alzheimer's disease, with 206,000 serving as caregivers providing 2,225 million hours of unpaid care valued at $2.8 billion annually.

• Task Force will develop policy recommendations on workforce preparation for dementia care, improve access and quality of dementia care, increase public awareness, and build support for family caregivers.

• Adopted by the House on March 31, 2022, and by the Senate on April 6, 2022.
