Recognizes Taiwan's economic importance: ninth-largest U.S. trading partner supporting 330,000 American jobs; 23rd export market for Alabama with $327 million in investment and 5,401 jobs.

Supports negotiation of a U.S.-Taiwan Bilateral Trade Agreement, establishment of a Taiwan trade office, and reciprocal driver license agreement between Taiwan and Alabama.

Urges K-12 and higher education cooperation agreements between Alabama and Taiwan, including Mandarin-English language exchange programs and increased official exchanges.
