Honors Alabama Speaker Pro Tempore Victor Gaston for his distinguished service to the Alabama House of Representatives and House District 100 in Mobile County over 40 years of service.

Recognizes Gaston's educational background including a Bachelor's Degree from University of Southern Mississippi, Master's Degree from University of South Alabama, and Doctorate in Education from Auburn University, plus his prior service as an educator and school administrator.

Acknowledges his military service as a Marine Corps Reserves Staff Sergeant and Alabama National Guard member, including active duty during Hurricane Frederic in 1979 and deployment to South Korea.

Commends his 12-year tenure as Speaker Pro Tempore beginning in 2010 and his legislative accomplishments including higher education reforms, traffic safety legislation, and the Historic Rehabilitation Tax Credit.

Recognizes his service as an elected delegate to six consecutive Republican National Conventions, board memberships with various community organizations, and his family including his late wife Jean of 46 years and six grandsons.
