Cherokee County Child Development Center opened in 1972 with Executive Director Mrs. Mary Sibert Davis and initially served 12 children.

Center receives building and funding support from the Cherokee County Board of Education, Cherokee County Commission, and the City of Cedar Bluff, keeping services affordable for families for 50 years.

Center has had only four directors in 50 years: Mrs. Mary Sibert Davis, Mrs. Evelyn Hall, Mrs. Peggy Dodd, and Mrs. Lisa Wright.

House of Representatives commends the Center for providing play-based learning experiences in a safe environment and contributing to children's school and life success.

Executive Director Mary Sibert Davis is recognized for her extraordinary service and unwavering commitment as a state pioneer in childcare programs.
