Recognizes Birmingham Police Officer Anthony Evans as a nominee for the 2022 Alabama Legislative Medal of Honor for Law Enforcement, Alabama's highest law enforcement award.

On October 7, 2021, Officer Evans and Officer Michael Burnett rescued an individual trapped in a vehicle submerged in 6 to 7 feet of flood water by swimming into the rising waters without hesitation.

After rescue, the officers determined the individual was not breathing and had no pulse; Birmingham Fire and Rescue Personnel administered CPR and successfully restored the individual's pulse.

Commends Officer Evans for demonstrating extraordinary courage and selfless actions in response to a life-threatening emergency, exemplifying dedicated law enforcement service.
